The Philadelphia Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII this weekend and the showpiece game will feature many amazing firsts.
The 57th edition of the greatest games of a sport at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona will be broadcast live on talkSPORT.
The Super Bowl is shaping up to be a thrilling event
The Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes are playing in their third Super Bowl in four years and they will look to replicate their title win in 2020.
The Eagles will play in the scintillating NFL game for the first time since winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy in 2018, with Jalen Hurts now making his first Super Bowl appearance.
Though Hurts’ debut isn’t the only first to come at this year’s Championship and talkSPORT.com takes a look at the history being made this weekend.
Young stars Hurts and Mahomes
Star men Hurts and Mahomes will make history on Sunday.
Aged 24 and 27, respectively, they will become the quarterbacks with the youngest combined age in Super Bowl history.
Hurts and Mahomes will also become the first-ever black starting quarterbacks in Super Bowl history, with the Eagles star set to become the eighth different black quarterback to start a Super Bowl.
Speaking of the historic moment, Hurts said, “It lays the foundation for what is to come.
“So many kids who have been told to change positions now know it can be done.”
Mahomes also commented: “This is a historic moment and to be part of it with two historic football teams?
“So many people have already laid the foundation. And playing with a guy like Jalen – who I know does it the right way? It will be a special moment – one that I hope will last forever.

The Kelce brothers face off in Arizona
Travis and Jason Kelce will face off in Super Bowl LVII, becoming the first-ever brothers to play on opposing teams in the showpiece game.
Both players have won the Vince Lombardi Trophy in the past, but this one would mean more to the brother who comes first in the family business.
Speaking after reaching the Super Bowl with the Chiefs, Travis said, “My mom can’t lose. I will leave it there.
“It’s going to be a fantastic feeling to play against him, and obviously I respect everyone there in this Eagles organization.
“You won’t see me talking too much trash because of the respect and love I have for my brother, but it’s going to be an emotional game.”

Record trade prices
Along with the story being made on the pitch, there’s also a premiere happening during the broadcast of the big game.
Indeed, 30-second spots for an advertisement to run during the game’s broadcast would now cost companies $7 million.
This is a new record that proves the impact of an advertisement broadcast during the Super Bowl on businesses around the world.
The price breaks last year’s record of $6.5 million as the cost continues to rise year on year, with the number increasing by around $2 million since 2018.

Potential Super Bowl premieres
Not only are there a lot of firsts happening before the game, but there’s also the potential for a few more new achievements during it.
This millennium, a player who won the NFL MVP title has never won the Super Bowl, with the MVPs having a joint 0-9 record since 2000.
Both Hurts and Mahomes are set to win the MVP award and if the eventual winner continues to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy, they will break that modern curse.
When it comes to stats, no quarterback has ever led the league in passing yards and won the Super Bowl in the same year and Mahomes will be there to try and make that happen.
The Chiefs could become the first team with the NFL’s No. 1 scoring offense to beat the team with the best Super Bowl pass defense.
And the Eagles can also achieve what no team has done before by becoming the first team to win the Super Bowl by averaging more than 140 rushing yards per game since the Denver Broncos in 1998.
