The Google Phone app for Wear OS is redesigned just in time for the Pixel Watch – 9to5Google

Google’s Wear OS renaissance is coming to a head with the launch of the company’s own Pixel Watch, and with the boost brought by the success of the Galaxy Watch, Wear OS has garnered a lot more interest in terms of relates to apps. Today, Google released a revamped version of its Phone app for Wear OS.

Rolling out now through the Play Store, the redesigned Google Phone app for Wear OS brings the same interface we’ve seen in many recent Pixel Watch leaks, especially those we’ve seen at retailers.

So what’s up?

Like many of Google’s other revamped Wear OS apps, including the Play Store, Google Phone now features rounded UI elements for each section, as well as a title at the top of the screen for the section you’re in. you currently find. The time of day also appears at the top of the UI, curved to match the watch itself.

Sections of the Google Phone app for Wear OS include favorite contacts, recent calls, your full list of contacts, a keyboard, and voicemail. Incoming calls have a simple appearance, with “end call” and a mute button when a call is in progress. Before answering a call, you can also scroll down to see quick replies to the caller.

We were able to install the redesign on the Galaxy Watch 5, but it seems safe to assume that this redesign won’t be exclusive to Wear OS 3, given that it’s the same app installed on existing Wear OS smartwatches.
