Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors remain the biggest headliner in basketball as they are at the center of every major NBA event.
Opening night? Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers (credit to LeBron James, the game’s biggest individual headliner).
Christmas? Dubs vs. Memphis Grizzlies, a rivalry that began in the 2021 Play-In Game and took a fiery step forward in the 2022 Playoffs.
If the NBA needs a headline-grabbing team, the Warriors are here to get the job done.
The Golden State Warriors are the NBA’s ultimate headliner, featured on opening night and Christmas Day festivities this season.
It’s more than just being the defending champions, though. Golden State has remained one of the most popular franchises for nearly a decade now with Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson leading the movement.
You won’t find a more popular team today. The Dubs largely top the local charts while Curry and Thompson both rank in the top 15 for jersey sales.
While the Lakers led the league in nationally televised games at 42 last season, the Dubs were just one game behind at 41.
There’s no denying the greatness of the Warriors. They have won four championships in seven seasons and look set to keep winning. Curry was in the hunt for MVP most of last season while Green ran for Defensive Player of the Year.
Everyone will be tuning in to rewatch a full season of Thompson. It’s been four years since we saw the Splash Brothers begin a season together on opening night.
Meanwhile, Jordan Poole, Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman and Moses Moody are exciting enough young prospects to experience the Warriors in their own right.
The Warriors will be in countless fun regular season games this year and they will almost certainly compete on basketball’s biggest stage as one of the favorites to win the title, yet again.
