Olympians Greg Louganis, Dara Torres and Sam Dorman joined the famous cliff diver smart ellie for a diving demonstration and performance organized by the International Swimming Hall of Fame. The festivities included a ribbon cutting and remarks from the mayor Dean TrantalisCommissioner Steven Glassman and Olympian Dara Torres.
“I couldn’t be more honored that the world is finally seeing what we’ve put our hearts into over the past 5 years. The City of Fort Lauderdale is committed to continuing the legacy of the Aquatics Center and maintaining our position as the swimming and diving capital of the world,” said Commissioner Steven Glassman who is a long-time champion of the aquatic center revitalization project and sits on the board of directors of the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
