The Chase Australia beats MasterChef and The Hot Seat in the ratings to become one of the biggest entertainment shows in the country
Channel Seven’s The Chase Australia has become one of the biggest entertainment shows in the country.
The quiz show, which has been a regular winner for the network for the past 18 months, drew a massive audience of 567,000 viewers on the subway on Tuesday.
It was a stunning performance for the brain compared to its primetime rivals, attracting wider audiences than Channel 10’s MasterChef and Nine’s The Hot Seat.
Host Larry Emdur celebrated the win by taking to social media to pay tribute to the show’s fans.
“Thank you for making The Chase the #1 entertainment show in Australia last night,” he wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.

“We had a bigger audience between 5 and 6 p.m. than the big dogs in prime time,” he continued, before adding, “It makes me a very proud old game show host.”
Included in his post was a photo of a friend’s toddler watching The Chase.
The Chase Australia has proven itself as a ratings winner for Seven.
Each episode averages more than 500,000 viewers from Metro each week.
This performance has consistently placed The Chase Australia in the top ten most-watched programs in the nightly charts.
Meanwhile, the beloved Channel Seven soap opera Home and Away managed to attract 487,000 fans in major centers on Tuesday.

The Chase Australia has proven itself as a ratings winner for Seven, as each episode averages over 500,000 Tube viewers each week.
And the highly publicized MasterChef scored a respectable 472,000 viewers in the Metro ratings.
Meanwhile, Channel Nine’s quiz series The Hot Seat, hosted by Eddie McGuire, drew 408,000 viewers.
It comes after Larry Emdur replaced former The Chase Australia host Andrew O’Keefe in 2021.
O’Keefe has had a specular fall from grace in recent years and, in January 2022, was filmed kicking and screaming in the back of a police van after being charged with assault .
