Charles Latuperissa certainly caught the eye with his ring walk ahead of his fight with Sultan Al Nuaimi.
The Indonesian fighter’s energetic dance routine to MC Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This” wowed the Dubai crowd at Caesars Palace in 2019.
However, the fight didn’t fit the title of the song as Latuperissa was knocked down twice and knocked out in the very first round.
For Al Nuaimi, everything went as planned as he made a successful debut in front of his home crowd in the United Arab Emirates.
The fledgling super flyweight hopes to grow and eventually become a legitimate contender in what is a hotly contested division.
Since the victory he has fought seven more times, winning them all with his last victory in March.
He is now 8-0 (5 KOs) as a result.
However, marquee fighters at 115 pounds include Juan Estrada, Roman Gonzalez, and Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez.
The stacked division will crown its true king on December 3 when Estrada and Gonzalez meet in their trilogy fight.
Meanwhile, American “Bam” Rodriguez is considered the big young talent at 115 pounds.
In Argentina, Fernando Martinez reigns as IBF champion after beating Jerwin Ancajas.
The pair will meet in a rematch on October 8.
And in Japan, Kazuto Ioka is the long-time reigning WBO champion, having held the belt for over three years.
