A team member who worked on The Block for a decade said it was “frustrating” because he “often said one thing and then did another”.

And to make matters worse, the controversial duo didn’t seem to understand just how much the process needed to be filmed.

Vito in particular often grew impatient with the cameras recording their every move.

“It’s unclear whether the two were deliberately trying to ruffle the feathers or if they just can’t read a play,” a source told Daily Mail Australia.

“Sure, there are great personalities every year, but most of the time when the cameras stop rolling, everyone gets along and understand that it’s just a TV show.

‘Mitch [Edwards] and Marc [McKie], who have previous experience on The Block, said they had never seen anything like Tanya and Vito’s behavior on the show before.

One of the biggest complaints from crew members was Tanya and Vito’s lack of honesty regarding the cheating scandal at the start of the season.

Tanya had obtained a photo of the show’s production schedule from host Scott Cam’s office in week one and used it to gain an unfair advantage.

While brothers Gucciones and Packham were docked at two points for a reveal of the room after the scandal was revealed, Tanya has yet to properly explain how she got the photo, instead offering a vague history of sending it. by a “tradie”.

The contestants were understandably eager to know the whole story, but the producers were also desperate to get to the bottom of what had happened.

“I don’t know who wanted the truth the most, the cast or the crew,” a source said.

While some viewers have speculated that the cheating scandal was “set up” for ratings, Daily Mail Australia understands that it was in fact genuine and treated “seriously” on the spot.

“The Gucciones are always heavily criticized for how they got the whiteboard photos of Scotty,” the insider added.

“Only time will tell if the couple’s behavior has an impact on auction day, but the feeling on set is that they likely won’t win The Block.”

The Block continues Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on Channel Nine
