The Blackmagic Camera app is finally ready to come to Android – No Film School

We know, Apple executives tell us all the time that iPhones are the best and only smartphone brand in the world and that texting with your non-iMessage friends is the worst. We’ve also heard from every Android user in the world complaining about how iPhones both dominate media coverage and usually get the most creator-focused apps and features first, or sometimes exclusively.

To make everyone happy now, Blackmagic Design let us know at NAB 2024 that it is finally rolling out an Android version of its popular Camera app. Here’s what you need to know.

Chatting with members of the Blackmagic Design team at NAB 2024, they certainly had quite a bit of news to share with the world this year. From their new URSA Cinema 12K to the new PYXIS 6K box-shapedto a whole series of new updates to come DaVinci solve 19they had a lot of news to cover.

However, perhaps a little missed in the mix, Blackmagic also announced that the Blackmagic Camera would soon be available on Android here. Like the iPhone version, it will be free and should be available on Blackmagic Design website here soon.
