At the Lucasfilms Studio Showcase during Star Wars Celebration on May 26, Disney celebrated all things Star Wars, George Lucas and John Williams. During the event, which POPSUGAR was in attendance for, they showcased exclusive footage from their Disney+ slate, giving audiences a preview of upcoming shows, and honored legendary songwriter John Williams with an incredible performance.
First, they previewed “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” which is slated to hit Disney+ on May 27 and air all summer. Next, they shared exclusive details about “Andor,” the new series airing in August. They also took a look at “Willow” – which isn’t part of the Star Wars universe, but adapts another beloved Lucas property. Next, they shared insider details about three series coming in 2023: the third season of “The Mandalorian,” new series Ahsoka, and “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,” an all-new show. The panel ended with surprise appearances from John Williams – who provided scores for films like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, ‘Jaws’, ‘ET’ and more – and Harrison Ford, who announced the release date from the fifth Indiana Jones film.
