The best fashion moments of the week made for a bold fashion show and more than made up for the lack of movie premieres (in light of the SAG-AFTRA strike) around the world. The MTV VMAs, for example, produced many style hits from music’s biggest stars. Selena Gomez shined in her romantic red Oscar de la Renta gown (with cutout details), while Megan Thee Stallion did Old Hollywood glamor her own way, wearing a custom sheer Brandon Blackwood column dress revealing the look of a thong in below.
At the Toronto Film Festival, a few actors were granted exemptions to promote their new films. Jessica Chastain was a vision in her embellished Armani Privé dress, while Dakota Johnson was more unconventional in her Bode printed kaftan dress. At Kering’s annual Caring for Women dinner in New York, shiny constructions also had their place: Zoe Kravitz opted for a white Saint Laurent tank dress that sparkled under the paparazzi flashes, while Kim Kardashian delivered a dress to Pink sequin turtleneck from Balenciaga.
