Conor McGregor has defended his decision to withdraw from the US Anti-Doping Agency [USADA] drug testing pool.
“Notorious” has been out of action since fracturing his tibia and fibula at UFC 264 in July 2021, but managed to pack on a significant amount of muscle during his injury layoff.

‘Notorious’ is bigger than ever ahead of his MMA comeback
This coincided with his withdrawal from USADA’s drug testing program, which led some of his UFC colleagues – such as light-heavyweight contender Anthony Smith – to suggest he was not Well.
“There’s only one reason you would do this,” Smith said recently.
“He looks fucked up as s***. You keep seeing videos of him flexing in front of mirrors and screaming and he’s huge. He healed very quickly, really very quickly.
An angry McGregor took to Twitter on Saturday to respond to the former 205-pound title challenger, he wrote: ‘The audacity of this loser!
“Anthony Smith, you are a loser. The [percent] bones coming together after a break like this is so weak.
“You think I don’t care about anything else. I’m the most tested fighter ever in combat sports. I’m giving this game my all. You – Nothing!

McGregor defended himself on social media
The 34-year-old pointed out that other top UFC stars haven’t been able to recover from similar injuries and he’s not leaving anything to chance ahead of his return.
“This rat spoke to [Chris] Weidman who had the same horrible injury and still has serious complications, is disturbed that I was able to heal/return to a normal lifestyle.
“He, like many other rats in my game, would be happier if I couldn’t play with my kids the same way anymore.”
Smith actually broke his leg against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 277 earlier this year, and McGregor pointed that out before suggesting ‘Lionheart’ was faking it.

Smith broke his leg in his last fight but McGregor isn’t buying it
“I thought you broke your leg yourself in your last fight lol little dope. You embarrassment of a man! Keep my name out of your fucking mouth. Damn,” he added.
“Hahahaah get away little tick. Broken leg my bollox. Annoying!”
At this point, McGregor appears to be in fine form and says he will do two tests with USADA in February before booking his comeback fight.
After breaking his leg in July, Smith has already healed and has been booked to face top contender Jamahal Hill on March 11.
