The 3,300 horsepower Dodge Viper completes the quarter mile in 6.68 seconds at 220 mph

Here is a Viper with a very powerful bite. This car has the nickname Juggernaut and is the fastest Viper in the world. As the video shows, it is able to complete the quarter mile in 6.68 seconds at 220.1 miles per hour (354.22 kilometers per hour).

The Juggernaut is a 2001 Viper but has the drivetrain from the fifth generation model, which are those from the 2013 through 2017 model years. The V10 engine block and heads are stock, but it now displaces 9.0 liters, instead of the original 8.4 liters. A pair of 88-millimeter Garrett turbos help the powertrain produce around 3,300 horsepower (2,461 kilowatts). He drinks ethanol fuel.

It’s not a particularly light car either. For the 6.68-second quarter-mile run, the scale read 3,926 pounds (1,781 kilograms).

The video shows several more quarter-mile runs of the Juggernaut. It is capable of repeated runs in the high six-second range while exceeding 200 mph (322 km/h).

The clip also features several other high-powered Vipers. One of them is called Kratos and is currently for roll racing. It has no problem running races over 200 mph. We covered the car in 2021 when the vehicle competed in the FL2k racing event in Florida.

There’s no sign that Dodge is reviving the Viper anytime soon. Instead, the brand’s performance future in the near future is the Charger Daytona SRT concept. The muscle car is coming in 2024. At launch, buyers can choose from power outputs ranging from 455 hp (340 kW) to 670 hp (500 kW). Later Banshee models would be available with over 800 hp (597 kW).

However, it’s still possible to get a new Viper if you look around. The vehicle is one of the few that still appears in the automaker’s sales reports, despite ending production years ago. In the second quarter of 2022, Dodge sold a Viper. The company delivered four in 2020 and again in 2021.
