The two showed respect for each other early on, taking hard kicks from a distance, careful to wade into the pocket too frequently or carelessly. Hardy landed with a few different left hooks, smiling every time he found his home, but Condit was never too bothered; taking the hit relentlessly and fighting back when he could.
As the duo began to settle within minutes of the fight starting, they each began to drop their strikes a little more freely, with Hardy continuing to chase the left hook. He found a home for it a few times and seemed to sting Condit at one point, filling him with confidence, urging him to go forward with a little more confidence.

He kept looking for the chin with the left hook – again and again and again – and as Condit went into the pocket, Hardy went for him once more, but was beaten to the punch. “The Natural Born Killer” blasted his own left hook to Hardy’s chin and the fight was over in a flash.
If you watch the replay, Hardy landed and staggered Condit to his left, but the American connected faster and stronger, dropping the Brit and ending the fight.
