Tesla Drag Race: which is faster between the S, 3 and X models?

Tesla vehicles winning drag races are nothing new. We’ve heard it before, to the point that fully electric vehicles have become a household name in several automotive channels as a killer in online racing, beating even the biggest names in fossil fuels. Whether you’re watching the Model S or Model 3, or even the Model X crossover, Teslas is fast, which can be attributed to their instantaneous torque.

That said, there is a burning question that is probably burning among drag racing fans: which Tesla is the fastest? Fortunately, CarWow pit these three Tesla vehicles on an accelerator track.

Before we start watching the embedded video above, let’s compare the numbers here first. All these Teslas are all-wheel drive with two motors powering each axle. The main differences between these cars are their horsepower, weight and, of course, their price tags.

First, the Model S Performance produces 825 horsepower (615 kiloWatts) and 959 foot-pounds (1,300 Newton meters) of torque, pulling its heavy 4,941 pounds (2,241 kilograms) in weight. The price of the Model S Performance is between the Model X P100D and the Model 3 Performance.

On the other hand, the 3 Performance model is perhaps the most affordable of the three, but it’s also the least powerful with 490 hp (365 kW) and 487 lb-ft (660 Nm) of twist. As a silver lining, the Model 3 is the lightest, tipping the scale to 1,872 kg (4,072 lb).

Finally, the X P100D is the most expensive and heaviest of the peloton with 2,487 kg (5,483 lb). However, its two electric motors compensate for the weight disadvantage with 795 hp (593 kW) and 841 lb-ft (1,140 Nm).

With these numbers, who do you think crossed the finish line first?
