Terence Crawford holds pads for Amir Khan as Brit trains with his former foe to prepare for Kell Brook showdown

Amir Khan is training alongside Terence Crawford to help prepare for his next grudge match with Kell Brook.

The Briton has signed up coach Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre for the national showdown, which is scheduled for February 19, live on talkSPORT.

Khan’s last loss came at the hands of Crawford in 2019.

Brook suffered the same fate, also being stopped by the American a year later.

As such, Khan apparently decided – “If you can’t beat them, join them.”

He now trains with Bomac and Crawford guides him through the sessions.

“Watching them, you visualize how good they are and get things out of them,” Khan said.

“Everything down to the timing and the speed, he is so well prepared as a fighter and I think it will be good to learn things from him, and I think it will bring back that love for the sport.

“I will also train with him because he likes to train once a week, whenever he is not at camp.

“He’s one of the fighters who told me to stay busy and in the gym.”

Bomac told Sky: “After seeing what Crawford did to Kell, I think Amir can do the same.

“The thing is, you want to teach them everything, make sure he has it in the bank, just in case he has to go cash that check.”

“That’s what we say in America, it’s in the bank, it’s in the memory bank.

“So if Kell Brook is trying to stay on top of him and he has the fight on his side, he’s already ready for that, because he trained for that during camp.

“And I won’t have anything to say to him again in the area, because we’ve already worked on it.”
