Jenelle Evans has finally won full custody of her son Jace since she relinquished parental rights to her mother many years ago.
The new custody agreement became official after the 31-year-old Teen Mom reality star and her mother Barbara Evans signed the papers on March 16 after more than a decade.
She wrote in the caption of a video of herself signing the documents and shedding tears of joy: ‘Words cannot describe how truly happy I am. Our family is complete now! Thanks Mom.’
The North Carolina native – who welcomed Jace, now 13, in 2009 with her ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis – had given custody of her eldest son to Barbara shortly after he was born.
Previously, Jenelle said she regained custody of Jace when speaking in a candid TikTok video posted in January 2021.

Over the years, Jenelle has had a long court battle with her mother for custody of her firstborn, due to her struggle with drug addiction and multiple arrests during her preteen years.
“My mother and I have decided together to grant me full custody because we want to rebuild our relationship as mother and daughter,” Jenelle told Us Weekly in a statement.
“We officially signed the papers on Thursday, March 16 at the courthouse,” she said. “It’s a done deal!”
She went on to explain that her mother wanted Jace to live with his family and be surrounded by a true father figure.
“My mom agrees it’s time for Jace to go back to his siblings and live with a mom and dad,” she said.
“She also thinks it’s important for Jace to be around a father figure to learn ‘boy stuff’ and get ‘men talking’,” she added, nothing that Barbara “didn’t have.” seen the way David’s parents [her] children’.
“She knows we’re capable of handling it,” Jenelle continued. “We all want to get along for the sake of the children and – as I’ve said before – to rebuild our relationship as mother and daughter.”
Her manager, August Keen, also told Us Weekly despite falling out in the past, Jenelle and her husband have patched things up and have a stable and healthy relationship.
“Jenelle and David are definitely together,” Keen said. “Things between them are great.”
“They are a happy family and they are doing very well,” he said in the statement.
Jenelle was 17 when Jace was born and her entire pregnancy was documented on MTV’s 16 And Pregnant.
Jenelle also shares an eight-year-old son named Kaiser with ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffith as well as six-year-old daughter Ensley with husband David Eason, 34.
David also has two children – Maryssa and Kaden – from previous relationships.

In the past, Jenelle and David had lost custody of all their children after a scary incident involving their dog in April 2019.
Eason killed their French bulldog, Nugget, after the dog allegedly attacked and bit Ensley.
Following this tragic event, their children were removed from custody and the couple separated for about a year.
Despite their rocky history and after both being fired from the MTV program, they eventually rekindled their relationship and reconciled their issues.
