Technical Writer (Contract)Aliso Viejo, CAAAs part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Future Technology Group (FTG) is leading the cloud gaming revolution, bringing console-quality video games to any device, from TVs to consoles to mobile devices and beyond. A Technical Writer within the Global FTG division, you will lead the creation of technical documents, manuals and process knowledge bases. You’ll work alongside teams from different countries to help PlayStation stay ahead of our competitors by pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. How you’ll make a difference Collaborate with key stakeholders, global cross-functional teams (CFTs), and internal business users within FTG to define documentation requirements and write internal technical manuals for engineers, analysts, and others professional users. Facilitate the end-to-end development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the technical operations support department. Translate detailed technical procedures into simple versions – follow documentation to drive process-driven operations. Organize existing repository, identify gaps and lead efforts to ensure accuracy and consistency of documentation across the division. Take responsibility for deadlines and follow up if necessary.
Who are you
BS/BA in Technical Communication, English, IT or equivalent. 3+ years of relevant experience as a technical writer or business analyst in an IT or software development field. Experience using Confluence and Jira. Experience navigation and documentation of terminal commands in Linux operating systems. Familiarity with GitHub and GitLab. Attention to detail and keen awareness of grammatical errors and ambiguities. High level of proficiency in written and spoken English. Effective communicator and exceptional facilitator for collaborative sessions and stakeholder meetings. learn and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Master taking and organizing notes; ready to answer questions on demand.Nice to haveExperience working alongside global operations teams in different countries.Experience in bringing diverse groups of people together to produce breakthrough results.Professional experience as a systems analyst experience designing visual assets such as workflow diagrams. , diagrams and banners.
