Tomorrow, Taylor Swift will release her “new” album Without fear (Taylor version), the highly anticipated first taste of the singer-songwriter’s update picks up on its old material. Swift is currently working on re-recording her first six albums in a bid to regain control of the material after the masters of the originals have been sold and then resold, and not to her.
The main purpose of what is surely a huge studio undertaking for Swift is to do what she thinks is right with her art, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some extra perks for her with it. project. In fact, while that probably wasn’t his main motivation, all the new releases of songs that fans have loved for years, as well as a handful of new songs that haven’t been released until now, can help the country pop star become one of the most successful artists in Hot 100 history, Billboardranking of the most consumed songs in the United States each week.
To be fair, Swift already sits at number four on the 100 Most Successful Artist list, but she may soon rise through the ranks and be even more successful.
Each song featured on Without fear (Taylor version) is labeled the same as the LP, which means it’s different from the original, at least in the eyes of Billboard. This means that every piece of the title can count towards its ever-growing list of Hot 100 wins, even if something that seems to have hit the charts years ago.
With the way the Hot 100 is structured these days, there’s a good chance that after Without fear (Taylor version) took advantage of its first seven full days to rack up sales and feeds, many, if not all, of the songs featured on the set will appear on the chart. Fans of the Grammy winner are sure to be buying the cups in droves and hitting play non-stop on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music from the moment they’re available, and all of this activity helps more and more titles to reach the important list.
Without fear (Taylor version) is expected to include 26 songs in the Standard Edition, and two of those songs – “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” and “You All Over Me (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault) (ft. Maren Morris)” – have already reached the Hot 100. It’s unclear how many could repeat this hit in a few days, as it could be as low as five or six, or it could be as high as 20 (or more).
As “You All Over Me (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault) (ft. Maren Morris)” hits the Hot 100 this week, Swift’s work placement count jumps to 130, and she strengthens her lead as a woman with the most wins in If that amount increases by 10 or 20 in a week, it will remain in fourth place among all artists for the most hits in the count mandate, but it will increase by a bit.
Now, to expand that success to the six tracks she’s re-recording, and the potential for Swift to make history on the Hot 100 is incredible. Looking at the songlists of the original and deluxe editions of the remaining five albums, she has yet to re-record and release –Taylor swift, speak now, red, 1989 and Reputation– the number of songs that could appear in the tally is 79, not counting the unreleased tracks and the new singles that are sure to appear here and there, which is exactly what happened with Without fear (Taylor version).
If every re-recorded track (that we know of so far) hits the Hot 100, Swift will drop from 130 hits on the map to 230 something. To put that number into perspective, Drake currently reigns over every artist in American history with 230 Hot 100 appearances.
Now, it’s highly unlikely that every re-recorded song and unreleased jewel from the chests will hit the competitive charts, but as Swift continues this adventure, she’s sure to land quite a few wins on the most important singles list. It might only take a few more outings for her to overtake Lil Wayne (170 hits) for the third hottest placement ever, and she could possibly hit 200 at some point in the not too distant future.
Swift doesn’t need help growing her Hot 100 account because every time she delivers a new album most or all of the tracklist shows up on the count … but make history on the list vitale singles is surely an advantage for this power play that does not bother her.
