Taylor Swift’s ‘Midnights’ Tops UK – Billboard

It is always Midnights times in the UK, where Taylor Swift locks another double chart.

The pop superstar’s tenth and final album Midnights reigns supreme for a second straight week on the Official Albums Chart, having broken records in its opening stanza. On the national singles chart, released Nov. 4, debut album “Anti-Hero” topped the charts for a second week.

With Midnights holding on, TayTay beat none other than the Beatles, whose classic 1966 album, Revolverreenters at No. 2. Revolver led the UK chart for seven consecutive weeks after its original release, and cracked the top 5 for the first time since December 1966, reports the OCC.

It’s all thanks to a “super deluxe” reissue, which includes excerpts, hand-selected to reveal the “humanity” behind the recording of Revolver. This includes a melancholy acoustic version of “Yellow Submarine”, sung by John Lennon.

The Beatles rewrote chart history during their brief recording career. With 17 UK No. 1 albums, no other band has as many frontrunners. The remixed and expanded Revolver The box set is the best-selling vinyl this week.

Michael Ball and Alfie Boe come in at No.3 in the UK tally. Together in Vegas, the highest start on the last frame. This is the duo’s fifth top 5 album alongside those of 2016. Together (No. 1), 2017 Still together (No. 1), 2019 back together (#2) and 2020s Together at Christmas (#1).

Meanwhile, London producer Fred Again lands in the top 5 for the first time with real life 3final sound editing real life trilogy. It’s new at #4.

The UK top 10 welcomes new releases from Massive Wagons this week (SETS OFF! at No. 6); Tom Odel (The best day of my life at No. 7); Foo Fighters (The essential at No. 10), while further down the list Paul Weller marks his 27th Top 40 appearance with will of the people, a 3xLP collection of rare B-sides, remixes and live recordings from the years 2002-2021. It’s new at #15.

Finally, after opening for Ed Sheeran earlier this year, rising singer-songwriter Dylan (real name Natasha Woods) earns his first top 20 with The greatest thing I will ever learn. This is new at #19.
