With 57,000 additional copies sold in the last week of tracking, FolkloreTotal album sales exceed one million (to 1.038 million), making it the first album to sell a million copies in 2020. It is also the first album released in 2020 to sell a million. Folklore is Swift’s ninth album to sell at least 1 million copies in the United States. These nine albums include his eight studio efforts, as well as his Christmas release. The Taylor Swift Vacation Collection.
FolkloreWeek eight at No.1 also marks his third total visit up, as the Republic Records release debuted at No.1 on the August 8 chart and spent its first six weeks at No.1. He then left No.1 for two weeks, then moved on to came back for a week on October 3. He retired for three more weeks, until his last stanza at the top of the count.
Folklore is the second album to have three separate visits to No.1 in 2020, after Roddy Ricch’s Please excuse me for being antisocial, who had four summit visits between December 2019 and February. It debuted at No.1 on the chart dated December 21, 2019, then had three more weeklong visits on January 18, February 8 and February 22.
The last album of a woman to have three separate stays at No.1 was that of Billie Eilish When we all fall asleep, where do we go?, who had three weeklong visits to the summit on April 13, May 5 and June 8, 2019.
Folklore continues to have the most weeks at # 1 of all albums since Drake Views scored 13 non-consecutive weeks in 2016. Folklore Also continues to have the most weeks at # 1 among all non-R & B / hip-hop tracks, and women’s albums, since Adele 25 landed 10 non-consecutive weeks at No.1 in 2015-16.
Second on the new Billboard 200, Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the stars Aim for the moon (published via Victor Victor Worldwide / Republic) falls one place with 66,000 equivalent album units earned (down 1%). 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s Wild Mode II (Boominati / Slaughter Boomin / Republic / Epic) plunges 2-3 to 47,000 units (down 29%). With Republic Records claiming numbers 1 through 3 (the label shares distribution credit with Epic on Wild Mode II), this is the first time a label has held the top three since Republic made it himself on the chart dated July 14, 2018. That week, Drake Scorpio (Young Money / Cash Money / Republic) debuted at No.1, while Florence + the Machine’s As high as hope (Republic) debuted at No.2 and Post Malone’s Beerbongs and Bentleys (Republic) held at No. 3.
On the new Billboard 200, former Juice WRLD No.1 Legends never die moves 3-4 with just over 44,000 equivalent album units earned (down 1%).
Tom Petty’s 1994 album Wild flowers re-enters the Billboard 200 at No.5 – a new high – after its deluxe reissue on October 16. The whole rebounded with 44,000 equivalent album units won (up 1,765%). Of this amount, 38,000 include album sales (up 8,409%), just under 5,000 in SEA units (up 161%) and 1,000 in TEA units (up 710%) .
Wild flowers originally debuted and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart on November 19, 1994. The ensemble spent six non-consecutive weeks in the top 10 between November 19, 1994 and January 21, 1995. The album contained the top 20- Billboard Hot 100 hit “You Don’t Know How That Feels”, which also reached No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Songs TV broadcast charts. The ensemble also featured the top 10 Mainstream Rock Songs hits “You Wreck Me” (# 2) and “It’s Good to Be King” (# 6).
Wild flowers was re-released on October 16, and its sales benefit from a variety of expansive luxury editions, dubbed Wild flowers and all the rest. All versions of the album, including the original 1994 release, are combined for tracking and mapping purposes. the Everything else The subtitle refers to the inclusion of a number of unreleased bonus tracks, many of which were originally intended for the Wild flowers album. (The set was originally intended to be a double album, but was reduced to a 15-song release.)

Korean pop group NCT land their first Billboard 200 entry, as the 23-member act’s second album Resonance, Pt. 1, debuted in 6th place with 43,000 equivalent album units earned. Of this amount, 40,000 include album sales, just under 3,000 include SEA units and a negligible amount in TEA units. Previous NCT Album, 2018 NCT 2018 Empathy, missed the Billboard 200.
NCT spin-off group NCT 127 (of which 10 members are also part of NCT) have listed three albums on the Billboard 200, including the top 10 NCT # 127: Neo Zone, the 2nd album, which debuted and peaked at No.5 on March 21.
Old Lil Baby’s No.1 My turn drops from 4-7 with 37,000 equivalent album units (down 3%), the original recording from the Broadway cast Hamilton: an American musical is a No.8 non-mover with 32,000 units (down 2%) and former Machine Gun Kelly No.1 My Downfall Tickets drop from 5 to 9 with 30,000 units (down 18%). Blackpink’s Album closes the top 10, going down from 6 to 10 with 29,500 units (down 15%).
