The Cornelia Street townhouse made famous by Taylor Swift is back on the rental market.
All it takes is the occasional monthly disposable income of $45,000, so we can’t help but wonder: do you think they accept payment plans?
The property, located at 23 Cornelia Street, is a single-family home that was first converted from a carriage house to a two-story unit. Eventually this was renovated into a four-story house by David Aldea, the former owner and former owner of Swift. When Swift needed a place to stay while her own Tribeca penthouse was being renovated, she fell in love with its style and rented the property as-is, fully furnished, for $38,000 a month, according to People.
The “rue Cornelia” the singer didn’t even live there a year, but her stay at the dream address was so memorable that she dedicated a song to the historic house in 2019 Lover.
Aldea said Vulture that he was “honored” by the track. “I put my heart and soul into building, designing and decorating this home, and for someone like Taylor to come and see what I saw and like what I liked, to love what I created was a total compliment and I will always be grateful to him for that.”
No wonder she fell for the property, located in the heart of the West Village. According to The Corcoran Group’s listing, it has over 5,000 square feet of living space, including a very rare drive-in garage, four bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two half baths, and countless other luxuries.

They describe the design as “modernist in style”, featuring a dedicated guest suite, indoor pool and lounge area, and multiple outdoor living areas, including a rooftop terrace with sweeping downtown views, featuring high beamed ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, three gas fireplaces, hardwood floors, updated kitchen appliances, and more.
Aldea sold the property in 2019 for $11.5 million, according to Zillow, but come Jan. 15 it could still be yours. Speaking of which, does anyone want to participate in it as a timeshare?
