After the record success of her short film “All Too Well” with Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien, Taylor Swift takes her talents as a director to the big screen. The pop culture icon has written and is set to direct her feature debut with Oscar-winning studio Searchlight Pictures.
“Taylor is a one-of-a-kind artist and storyteller. It is a true joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting new creative journey,” said Searchlight Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield, in a statement. Variety.
Besides “All Too Well: The Short Film”, she has directed her own music videos, including 2019’s “The Man” and her Midnights versions of the time, “Anti-Hero” and “Bejeweled”. She also had roles in movies like Valentine’s day, Catsand amsterdam over the years.

Yes! The multi-hyphenate has made its mark in the music industry and is now expanding its reach into film. Taylor’s official fan club, Taylor Nation, confirmed she was working on her first feature film with Searchlight Pictures on Instagram. The news comes a day after Taylor shared a behind-the-scenes look at her 2021 directorial “All Too Well: The Short Film.”
“You know the greatest movie of all time is being made. Director and screenwriter Taylor is stepping onto the big screen to make her directorial debut. 🥹🎥 #DirectorTaylorSwift,” Taylor Nation captioned of the ad.
What is Taylor Swift’s movie about?
There is no information about the plot of Taylor Swift’s first film yet. Since the release of his album folklore in 2020Swifties observed that Taylor was working on a movie based on the love triangle of her songs “Betty”, “Cardigan” and “August”.
That same year, Taylor’s friends Ryan Reynolds and Jesse Tyler Ferguson gave in to fan theories when they expressed interest in taking part in a film adaptation of his song, “The Last Great American Dynasty”, alongside Blake Lively.
“I’m not trying to be the loudest woman this town has ever seen but…I LOVE THIS,” Taylor wrote in response.
