Taylor Swift will receive the Global Icon Award at this year’s BRIT Awards.
Taylor will be the first female artist to receive the BRIT’s highest honor – previous winners are Elton John, Robbie Williams and David Bowie.
The star will receive the award at this year’s ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, May 11, in recognition of his undeniable impact on music around the world. Taylor is currently the best-selling artist in the UK in 2021 to date, according to official data from the Charts company.
Some of his other accomplishments during his 17-year career include winning three-time Grammy for Album of the Year, selling over 114 million albums worldwide, and being the first and only 21st century female artist to have earned seven number 1 studio albums in the UK, most recently with her re-recorded LP Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

This year’s BRIT Awards will take place at the O2 Arena in London and air on ITV from 8 p.m., hosted by Jack Whitehall. Check out this year’s full list of nominees here.
Artists confirmed to perform at the event are: Arlo Parks, Coldplay, Dua Lipa, Griff (winner of this year’s Rising Star Award), Headie One, Olivia Rodrigo and Rag’n’Bone Man & P! Nk with the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Choir.
