Taylor Swift honored another person for their dedication during the pandemic
Taylor Swift is known for her generosity, especially when it comes to her fans. Swift recently sent a care kit to a Georgian nurse who has worked tirelessly during the pandemic, including a handwritten thank you note for the frontline worker’s hard work.
Swift sent a box of goodies including piles of clothes, a blanket, a water bottle and other merchandise she just pulled out Always album to flight nurse Britta Thomason after being interviewed by a local newspaper about her work during the pandemic. In the interview, she casually mentioned that she was a huge fan of Taylor Swift (aka a “Swiftie”) and soon after that this package appeared for Thomason at work.
Thomason told a local newspaper that she was a huge Swift fan and Swift rushed in with this epic care package.
“I mentioned in a recent press article with The Telegraph and macon.com that I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan… and it showed up at work today !!” Thomason wrote on Facebook. “I’ve always seen videos of her fans opening packages that she sent them, but I NEVER thought I would be one of them! I’m not the type to argue about anything, but if you know me you know I’m a Swiftie! Don’t mind me… I’ll cry the rest of the day.
In a handwritten note, Swift said she wanted to “personally thank” Thomason “for serving on the front lines of this pandemic and for having the courage to put [herself] in danger of helping others, ”adding,“ I am so inspired by your passion to help and care for your patients, and I was so touched that you mentioned loving my music recently! I sent you comfortable clothes for your discharge. I will think of you and I will always be grateful.
“I just imagined her sitting in an apartment with her cats Olivia and Meredith running around and she’s just jotting down my name,” Thomason told the Macon Telegraph. “She sent me a blanket. It’s so warm and cozy. And it reminds me of his song “You all over me”. The experience has been great. “
Swift has always supported her fans, but has taken things up a notch during the pandemic.
Swift and her mother, Andrea, recently donated $ 50,000 to a family who lost their father to COVID-19. Theodis Ray Quarles, father of five young children, died just before Christmas. When Swift heard of their story, she donated to a GoFundMe page. On his page, his wife thanked the Swifts for their “thoughtfulness and generosity.”
As for Thomason, she believes Swift’s message is for all frontline workers.
“I think on a larger scale in the world, she’s basically saying to everyone who is doing this ‘Thank you for what you do and you are appreciated,'” Thomason told the Telegraph. “I hope there are other nurses, health care providers, paramedics and doctors taking it personally, that she tells them, ‘Great job and thank you.’”
For everything she sent, Thomason said it was the handwritten note that was the most touching. “My favorite part of the letter is at the very end, she said, ‘I’ll think of you and be forever grateful, I love Taylor,’” Thomason said. “Just that she’d say something like that, that she’ll think of me, and that she’s grateful for something I’m doing.” It is really touching.
