(Gray News) – Taylor Swift is talking about the Ticketmaster fiasco that has been in the headlines all week.
In part, Swift wrote on her Instagram story on Friday morning, “There are a myriad of reasons why people have had such a hard time trying to get tickets and I’m trying to figure out how this situation can be improved to the future.”
Swift also expressed her frustration with Ticketmaster, saying she had repeatedly asked the company if it could handle this type of request, “and we were assured it could.”
Swift’s full statement reads:
The public on-sale of The Eras Tour, which was scheduled for Friday, was canceled due to “extraordinarily high demands on the ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet this demand.” Ticketmaster announced Thursday.
As of Friday afternoon, Ticketmaster had yet to announce a backup plan for the public sale.
The unprecedented demand for pre-sale tickets caused major problems for Ticketmaster earlier this week.
While hundreds of thousands of tickets were sold during the presale, many fans were stuck in a queue for several hours with thousands of people ahead of them. Ticketmaster’s website finally crashed.
The Eras tour begins March 17 in Glendale, Arizona and ends August 9 in Los Angeles.
