Taylor Swift Wants to Know: Are Swifites Already Registered to Vote?
Swift took to her Instagram — where she has more than 272 million followers — on National Voter Registration Day this Tuesday to share a message to her fans urging them to register to vote. She also shared a link to Vote.org, a nonprofit voting registration platform and organization that she has previously collaborated with.
“I was so lucky to see so many of you at my shows in the US recently,” his statement begins. “I heard you raise your voice and I know how powerful it is. Make sure you’re ready to use them in our elections this year! »
She continued: “Today, on National Voter Registration Day, it is critical that young voters, in particular, understand that they have the power to shape their future,” said Andrea Hailey, CEO of Vote.org. “Eight million young people will be new eligible voters by Election Day 2024. And now is the time to prepare for the elections this fall and next year. Several states are holding elections in November this year and many other states will hold primaries in the first months of 2024. This is why this National Voter Registration Day is so important: we are on the starting line of the next presidential election.”
