CLEVELAND, Ohio — Taylor Swift fans were lucky enough to get a pre-sale code by logging on to Ticketmaster this morning and have been having trouble buying tickets for the pop star’s upcoming “Eras” tour.
It’s me. Hi.
Swifties took to Twitter on Tuesday to document their issues. While some reported success, many others found Ticketmaster’s homepage to be down. Indeed, Downdector has logged thousands of outage reports as of 9:30 a.m., with most of these occurring on the website rather than the app.
“We are aware that fans may be experiencing intermittent issues with the site and are working urgently to resolve them,” said the the company’s support team tweetedadding that fans who received a presale code should use the link texted to them instead of trying to access the Ticketmaster homepage.
Other ticket buyers who made it through are currently stuck in a queue with more than 2,000 people ahead of them. Some who eventually got around to purchasing tickets found that the dynamic pricing fluctuated with each page refresh.
“If anyone needs me today I’ll be here to take care of the disaster that is #TSErasTour ticketmaster @taylornation13,” one fan tweeted. “Taylor Swift really wrote ‘the great war’ about getting tickets for her tour,” added another.
The reason for the high demand: The 20-city, 52-date ‘Eras’ tour is Swift’s first time on the road since 2018. She’s released four new albums since then — ‘Lover’, ‘Folklore’, ‘Evermore’ , ‘Midnights’ – in addition to new recordings from two older albums, ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ and ‘Red’ (Taylor’s Version)”.
Capitol One cardholders are hoping the issues will be resolved for their 2 p.m. presale. The general public, meanwhile, won’t have their first chance to get tickets until Friday at 10 a.m.
The “Anti-Hero” singer performed in Cleveland on her “Reputation” and “1989” tours in 2018 and 2015, but this time around she’s skipping town. Local fans will have to travel to places like Pittsburgh, Detroit or Cincinnati to see her.
