We still haven’t heard any bits of Taylor Swiftthe long-awaited new album from Midnightswhich will be released later this month, but little by little she dropped song titles and other tidbits, including the exciting news that Lana Del Rey appears on the fourth track, “Snow On The Beach”. She talked more about the song, and Lana, in a video she posted to Instagram last night:

“Snow on the Beach” featuring Lana Del Rey is track 4 of Midnights, and I can’t pass that sentence without a smile because I’m a huge Lana Del Rey fan. More on that later. “Snow on the Beach,” the song, is about falling in love with someone at the same time they fall in love with you in that kind of cataclysmic, fatal moment when you realize someone feels exactly the same as you. feel at the same time, and you’re looking around and saying, “Wait, is this real? Is it a dream? Is it real? Is this happening? Is this really happening? A bit like seeing snow falling on a beach.

Lana Del Rey, in my opinion, is one of the greatest musical artists of all time. The fact that I can exist at the same time as her is an honor and a privilege, and the fact that she is generous enough to collaborate with us on this song is something I will be forever grateful for. I absolutely love it, and I really hope you love this song as much as I do.

Meanwhile, in other Taylor-related news, MUNA covered her Folklore “August” track on their new Living at Electric Lady EP. “The whole environment at Electric Lady Studios is so supportive and open that it often leads to making new creative choices while you’re recording,” the band says. “‘August’ took on this very breathy, calm quality that we hadn’t anticipated, but just went for it.” Stream the EP, including the “August” cover, and see footage from one of MUNA’s recent New York shows at Irving Plaza below.
