On this week’s Billboard 200, the focus is clearly on rapper Pop Smoke, as he landed his second rule posthumously. His latest hit release may be one of the biggest news stories of this cycle in the US music market, but it’s not the only one. There are several other titles that have reached milestones and are also worth highlighting, including more than one by Taylor Swift.
Here are five albums that are making big strides in the Billboard 200 charts this week.
N ° 1 – Pop Smoke – Faith
It’s not even been two years since Pop Smoke was murdered, but meanwhile his fans sent two feature films of the rapper to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The Musician’s New Take Faith opens in the first place, bringing hip-hop talent back to the throne. His two albums proper reached the top, but unfortunately he never got to see this wonderful spectacle during his lifetime.
N ° 26 – The Kid Laroi – Fucking love
It looks like The Kid Laroi is heading for their first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 next week, as their Fucking love title may shoot in the first place after trying to do so for months. The hip-hop / pop musician recently added seven new tracks to the Deluxe Edition (in a new EP titled Fucking love 3), including the new top 10 “Stay” with Justin Bieber. This cadre, the set is celebrating a full year, or 52 weeks, on the leaderboard, so it will be particularly impressive if it does indeed launch at the top anytime soon.
Including all of the many luxury editions of Fucking love that were released, this era now includes over 35 songs.
# 56 – Taylor Swift – Folklore
Again, Taylor Swift takes up half a dozen spaces on the Billboard 200, and two of her tracks are hitting notable milestones this time around. The first among the pair worth celebrating this setting is Folklore, the singer-songwriter’s first surprise release in 2020. The track has now been on the chart for 52 weeks, and it’s likely to spend over a year on the tally.
Just a rung below Folklore come Lover, its 2019 release which also produced a number of big pop hits. The title has racked up 100 weeks on the Billboard 200, and it is now the Grammy winner’s seventh title to reach triple-digit rounds on the list.
N ° 90 – Mac Miller – Swimming
Mac Miller released his album Swimming roughly a month before his unexpected passing in 2018, and fans haven’t stopped listening to the project ever since, even after his estate shared a posthumous feature film. The rapper Swimming is comfortable at No.90 on this week’s Billboard 200 as it hits 150 weeks on the count. The title is by far his longest charting effort and the only one to hit 100 weeks on the list.
N ° 104 – Guns N ‘Roses – Appetite for destruction
Back on the Billboard 200, Guns N ‘Roses hit album Appetite for destruction, who returns to the standings after being absent the last time. The hard rock blockbuster reappears at # 104 as it hits 250 weeks into the count. The former chart champion falls and returns to the list quite often, so that sum is sure to increase in the months and years to come.
