Taylor Swift’s fans are powerful, so much so that hordes of them drove Ticketmaster to a screeching halt when a historic influx of shoppers logged on to the site to try and grab their tickets for her upcoming Eras tour. After tons of The Swifties face the wrath of Ticketmaster, the Senate even called a hearing on the situation. Yes, it is their power. The recent ordeal was the subject of a Trevor Noah joke at this Sunday’s Grammys as the host called on Swifties to price eggs while seated next to Swift. A few days later, the prices In fact fell.
So, are Swifties really magical, or what? Before we detail what’s going on with egg prices in the United States, check out the Grammys moment between Taylor Swift and Trevor Noah:

During Grammys time, Trevor Noah praised Taylor Swift for having “the best fans in the world,” noting what they’ve done with Ticketmaster, which may now see a change in policy as a result of what happened. with the Eras tour. Noah then asked if fans could take this power and use it to manage the price of eggs. Swift responded by saying “there’s really nothing they can’t accomplish” before saying they would “get to it.”
As you may have noticed if you’ve been grocery shopping for the past few months, eggs have been a lot more expensive lately. Due to a historic bird flu outbreak in the United States, Grade A eggs hit record highs for more than double their usual price. However, as CNBC reported, coincidentally just days after the Grammys, egg prices may finally be down again. This makes us wonder if the Swifties somewhere are somehow behind the sudden shift in the egg market. They were certainly encouraged by the Grammys moment, posting things like this on Twitter:
Omw to lower the price of eggs because Taylor Swift said I couldFebruary 6, 2023
The actual report doesn’t include any reference to the Swifties somehow landing on a loophole to drive down the price of eggs after Grammys time, so it seems like a huge coincidence, but it’s ain’t gonna stop Swifties from theorizing about all of this (or all of us having fun), because that’s what they like to do.

The report came thanks to falling wholesale egg prices, perhaps signaling that retail prices will soon follow. Although this is more than likely a fortuitous event, perhaps we should get some Swifties on more of our widespread issues?
