A Taylor Swift super fan claims she was so excited by the announcement of the singer’s tour that she suffered a collapsed lung, which landed her in the emergency room.
Karlee Kluck, 19, has been a hardcore ‘Swiftie’ for 16 years, so when her sister Averee shared the latest tour news, she started planning when she’d get tickets – but her excitement quickly turned so overwhelming that she found herself writhing in pain and rushed to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with a collapsed lung.
The day Karlee was told about the tour, she recalled spending the whole evening blasting her favorite Swift songs, singing and dancing, when she noticed a sharp pain in her chest .
The next morning the pain increased as Karlee struggled to breathe, so her mother Vanessa rushed her to hospital where doctors gave the shocking diagnosis.
Although the fan claims it was her arousal that caused her lung to collapse, medical experts say there was likely a pre-existing condition or trauma that caused the condition.

The day Karlee was told about the tour, she spent the entire evening blasting her favorite Swift songs, but then noticed a sharp pain in her chest.
The next morning the pain increased, so her mother Vanessa rushed her to the hospital where they had diagnosed a collapsed lung.
She said, “When I heard the tour announcement, I was extremely excited and started freaking out, in a good way.
“The rest of my night involved me blasting Taylor’s music and dancing around my house while shouting the lyrics.
“After I finished, I noticed pain in my chest, but I didn’t think much about it, so I went to bed.
“The next morning I woke up with worse pain and shortness of breath, so I immediately went to my mum and told her about the pain.
“She’s a nursing student, so she listened to my lung and heard a whistle. We packed our bags and left immediately for the hospital.
Karlee’s lung collapsed in November of the previous year and she’s had random flare-ups of pain ever since.
After numerous tests and x-rays, as well as a check of her heart, doctors confirmed that she had a mild pneumothorax or collapsed lung.
She continued, “At the hospital, the doctor ordered a chest X-ray, lab work, EKG and took blood for a D-dimer test to check for clots in my blood.
“I was also hooked up for an EKG to make sure my heart was working properly and after about 20 minutes the doctor came and informed me I had a mild pneumothorax.
“Fortunately it was smaller than the first one so my doctor ordered me to put on oxygen in the hopes it would inflate my lung.
Karlee left the hospital to go home for some much-needed rest, but by evening the excruciating pain had returned and she was back in the emergency room.
She added: “Normally a pneumothorax of this size wouldn’t be hugely concerning, but as this is my second there is more concern.”
“The doctors all agreed that some sort of procedure needed to be done to prevent this from happening again, so I was sent home with instructions to manage over-the-counter medication and sleep upright.
“I am now out of hospital but I have appointments to explore possible procedures.”

According to the Cleveland Clinic, a collapsed lung occurs when air enters the area between the chest wall and the lung, also known as the pleural space.
Air in the pleural space builds up and then presses against the lung, causing it to collapse.
Medical conditions such as asthma, pneumonia, COVID, and lung cancer can cause a lung to collapse.
A collapsed lung can also be due to blunt force trauma, theft that involves a drastic change in air pressure and drug use.
Karlee is currently at home recovering, but surprisingly, this isn’t the first time Swift’s news has caused her health issues.
