A new study has revealed the names of American celebrities who have proven to be influential in encouraging fans to vote.
Among the top scorers are American singer Taylor Swift and actor Tom Hanks. Cardi B, Beyoncé, LeBron James and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also feature in the list.
The study was conducted by Whitman Insight Strategies and MRC, where more than 1,000 likely voters were asked about their views on the influence of celebrity supporters in the upcoming election.
Many of them responded positively and confirmed that indeed celebrities played a very important role in shaping their opinions.
12% of voters said their choice of vote was influenced by a celebrity, among them 28% were black voters and 17% were millennials.
49% of voters said they think Tom Hanks is the most trusted when it comes to politics. He is followed by Dwayne Johnson who stands at 45%. Out of 36% who have already voted, 13% say they are influenced by Taylor Swift.
For Gen Z, Zendaya was ranked as the most influential star, while Lady Gaga was at the top of LGBTQ + voters.
