Tampa’s mayor said the city is already making progress in its recovery from Hurricane Ian and the Buccaneers are expected to host the Chiefs on Sunday night as scheduled.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor wrote on Twitter this morning that the city will be ready for Sunday night football.
“We succeeded, now the recovery efforts begin. I can’t thank our teams in the city of Tampa enough. Our push teams are out in force to clean up the debris and keep our city safe,” Castor wrote. “On another note: we do our best to keep the Buccaneers game here on Sunday. I assured the NFL that the only disruption here on Sunday is when the Bucs kick ass.
The NFL hasn’t officially confirmed that the Bucs game will go ahead as planned, but given the mayor’s enthusiastic endorsement, there seems little doubt the game will go ahead on Sunday night.
