While Android 13 is slowly creeping into our minds, OEMs are still managing to update Android 12. Samsung, which is apparently on a roll, continues to impress with its rapid update cadence. Now, more and more T-Mobile subscribers are having fun, with the Galaxy Note 20 series finally getting the One UI 4 (Android 12) update.
This morning, several Android Central employees received the Android 12 update on their Samsung devices, including the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
It’s notable because T-Mobile seemed like the last of America’s top wireless carriers to jump the Android 12 bandwagon for the Note 20 series, after Verizon and then AT&T reportedly beat it to the punch. Unlocked units even received the update before T-Mobile-bound ones.
While global variants of these phones are already getting One UI 4, the US is unfortunately at the mercy of carriers for major Android updates. Interestingly, these phones aren’t listed on T-Mobile’s support page yet because they haven’t received the update yet.
Considering this may be the last Note-branded Galaxy smartphone, Android 12 should breathe new life into your phone ahead of the Galaxy S22 launch, which is expected to take place in early February.
If your Galaxy Note 20 or Note 20 Ultra did not receive a notification for the update, go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to be checked manually. It may take a while to roll out to everyone.
