Syracuse Basketball: 4-Star Target Takes One of the Biggest Jumps in the Rankings – Inside the Loud House

Ever since Syracuse basketball coaches offered underrated and talented 2024 shooting guard Elijah Moore a scholarship last spring, I’ve predicted that New York’s deadly four-star prospect should be in the top 50. across the country in his class.

The 6-foot-4 Moore gets there. When Rivals.com recently updated its national rankings for the junior cycle, it boasted one of the biggest gains nationally in these latest ratings of 2024.

Rivals.com, now, ranks Moore as a four-star and No. 68 overall. Previously, this recruiting service had him at No. 104, which means Moore has moved up 36 places.

Additionally, when 247Sports recently updated its 2024 rankings, it placed Moore as a four-star, No. 73 nationally, No. 13 in shooting range and No. 3 in New York State.

Syracuse basketball hard recruits 2024 four-star guard Elijah Moore.

In recent articles about Moore and interviews he has given, the Orange has been noted as one of the hardest-recruiting college teams currently.

Moore recently told Zach Smart in an interview on nychoops.rivals.com that some of the programs he has had “close ties” to in the past include Syracuse Basketball, Mississippi State, UConn, Notre Dame, and Seton Hall.

Not so long ago, Alabama and California offered Moore. His job slate also includes Seton Hall, Xavier, Connecticut, St. John’s, VCU, Mississippi State, Bryant, Temple, Saint Peter’s, Columbia, Fordham, Saint Joseph’s and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

I continue to assert that Moore is still underrated nationally. In grassroots basketball in the spring and summer, he received an outpouring of praise from national analysts and scouts for his performances as a member of the Bronx, Upstate-based Wiz Kids. New York, in the Adidas league.

Moore is a junior at Cardinal Hayes High School in Bronx, NY, a group that was stellar a stanza ago and is poised to challenge for a national top-25 ranking in the upcoming 2022-23 season.

In late August, Moore made an unofficial visit to the hill to attend Orange’s annual elite camp. He said his style of play aligns well with the ‘Cuse system, and hopefully Moore makes an official visit to Syracuse basketball at some point in the future.

The fall recruiting period opened more than two weeks ago, and it was reported that Orange’s coaching staff visited Moore during open gyms.

When I wrote this column, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranked Moore as four-star, No. 99 nationwide, No. 18 at shooting guard and No. 4 in New York.

As Moore shines for Cardinal Hayes during his junior tenure, I’m confident this priority recruiting target for the ‘Cuse will eventually land in the top 50. He’s the commodity.
