The past few months have arguably been stressful for pop singer Samantha Jade, who recently had to call off her wedding due to Covid.

And the New Boy star, 34, looked rather grim on Tuesday when she went out for coffee in Paddington, Sydney, with her fiance Pat Handlin.

Joined by her dog Banksy, the Perth-born singer failed to smile as she strolled the trail alongside her future husband.

She dressed casually in a white hoodie, black leggings and sneakers, and swept her blonde hair into a no-fuss bun.

Samantha seemed to no longer wear makeup and hid her gaze behind cat eye sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Pat, a former Sony Music Australia executive, sported a serious expression on his face while talking to someone on the phone.

He wore a sporty outfit consisting of shorts, black fleece and a baseball cap.

The sighting comes after Samantha called off her marriage to Pat due to the unpredictable Covid situation.

The X Factor winner, known for her hits Bounce and Sweet Talk, had already been forced to cancel her nuptials twice last year due to the pandemic.

She told Perth Now on July 15 that she had all but abandoned her wedding plan in 2021 – although restrictions on weddings have eased since she did this interview.

Samantha, who got engaged to Pat in January 2019, said the couple wanted to start planning “a few months ago” to get married “very soon.”

But then Perth, where her side of the family lives, went into an instant lockdown in April and she decided to “completely put on hold” her plans to get married amid the Delta strain crisis.

“I was like, ‘You know what? Let’s not bother. I cannot not have my family at my wedding. We are going to put it on hold to see what happens with Covid, ”she said.

‘It’s not worth the shot. First of all, it’s extremely expensive and it’s so heartbreaking to have to put it on hold all the time.

“I also don’t want to be all excited and, you know, have to cancel it, so right now it’s just on hold until the world gets its act together, I guess.”

Pat was one of two Sony Music Australia executives to be removed from his post in June following the abrupt departure of his father and longtime CEO Denis Handlin.

A spokesperson for the New York-based label confirmed to The Music Network in August that he was “no longer with the company.”
