Android users can transfer their data from smartphone to iPhone via Move to iOS app. Here’s how to switch from Android to iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Did you use an Android phone and now want to switch to an iPhone, iPad or iPad touch? Migrating or transferring Android to iPhone is not a big deal, but transferring your data losslessly is. If you are ready to transfer data from Android to iPhone, you should download an app called “Move to iOS” on your Android device for help in moving to your new iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. You can easily download the app from Google Play Store.
Before you start, you need to make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your Android device. Then connect your new iOS device and Android device to power. You also need to make sure that the content you move, including what’s on your external Micro SD card, will fit on your new iOS device.
If you want to transfer your Chrome bookmarks, you need to update to the latest version of Chrome on your Android device. Here’s what you need to do to switch from Android to iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
How to migrate Android to iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
Step 1:
Click Move Data from Android: While setting up your new iOS device, find the Apps & Data screen. Then tap on Move data from Android. (If you’ve already completed the setup, you must erase your iOS device and start over. If you don’t want to erase, you can transfer your content manually.)
2nd step:
Open the Move to iOS app: You will then need to open the Move to iOS app on your Android device. If you don’t have the Migrate to iOS app, you can tap the QR code button on your new iOS device and scan the QR code using your Android device’s camera to open the Google Play Store. Tap Continue and read the terms and conditions that appear.
Step 3:
Get a code: On your iOS device, tap Continue when the Move from Android screen appears. Then wait for a ten or six digit code to appear. You will need to enter the code on your Android device.
Step 4:
Connect to a Wi-Fi network: Your iOS device will create a temporary Wi-Fi network. When prompted, tap Connect to join this network on your Android device. Then wait for the Transfer Data screen to appear.
Step 5:
Choose your content: On your Android device, select the content you want to transfer and tap Continue. You should know that even if your Android device says the process is complete, leave both devices untouched until the loading bar that appears on your iOS device completes.
Step 6:
Here’s what gets transferred: your contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, photo albums, files and folders, accessibility settings, display settings, web bookmarks, email accounts and calendars will be transferred. If they are available on both Google Play and the App Store, some of your free apps will also be transferred. After the transfer is complete, you can download all the corresponding free apps from the App Store.
Step 7:
Set up your iOS device: After the loading bar is complete on your iOS device, tap Done on your Android device. Then tap Continue on your iOS device and follow the on-screen steps to complete your iOS device setup. You may note that music, books, and PDF files need to be moved manually.
