Swiftie Alert: Puyallup will celebrate the next era of Taylor Swift – MyNorthwest

Just when we thought it was over, Taylor Swift returns for another era. Although it probably won’t be as chaotic as last summer, local swifities are gearing up to celebrate his new album, “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Downtown Puyallup hosts the Tay Tour on Friday: a downtown celebration for Swifties.

According to the Tacoma News Tribune, the festival will feature food and drinks based on the music of Taylor Swift. The streets will be filled with lavender lattes, French blonde cocktails, friendship bracelets and more.

When Taylor Swift performed in Seattle last July, she attracted more than 72,000 fans, setting Lumen Field’s attendance record, according to the Seattle Times.

Visit Seattle brought in record tourism dollars after All-Star Week and Swift’s concert – with tourists spending $8.2 billion.

On Friday, residents will have the opportunity to celebrate Swift’s new album and energize business in Puyallup.

The Tacoma News Tribune reports that 13 businesses are participating in the party. The Firehouse Pet Shop will offer discounts on cat products, Atomic Genius Records will offer a limited quantity of “The Tortured Poets Department” on colored vinyl for sale, Giorgio’s Greek Cafe and Pizzeria will offer “anti-gyros” and MM Nutrition and Lick Homemade Ice. Cream will have Swiftie ice cream sandwiches and Swift-themed temporary tattoos, just to name a few.

Morgan Medeiros, event coordinator for the Puyallup Main Street Association (PMSA), told the Tacoma News Tribune that the goal of the event is to introduce people to businesses they may not be familiar with.

Medeiros also told the Tacoma News Tribune that Swift was a “cultural moment” by bridging the generation gap in a way that few musicians can.

PMSA encouraged people to come and enjoy drink specials, experiences, activities and more. The festivities start around 4 p.m. and end around 7 p.m.
