SANTA CLARA, Calif., September 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — SVB Financial Group (SVB), innovation economy finance partner and parent company of Silicon Valley Bank, today announced the appointment of Thomas Kingformer Managing Director of Investment Banking at Barclays, to its Board of Directors, from September 13, 2022. King will also serve on the Compensation and Human Capital Committee of the Board of Directors.

King has nearly 35 years of experience in corporate and investment banking and is currently an operating partner at investment firm Atlas Merchant Capital. From 2014 to 2016, he served as Managing Director of Investment Banking at Barclays, overseeing both banking and market activities. During this period, he was also Chairman of the Executive Committee of the investment bank and a member of the Executive Committee of the Barclays Group.
King began his career at Salomon Brothers, which was later acquired by Citigroup. During his tenure at Citi, he held several leadership positions including Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions, Head of Investment Banking EMEA, and Head of Corporate & Investment Banking for the EMEA region. King previously served on the board of Leerink Holdings, now SVB Securities, from 2017 to 2018. SVB Financial Group acquired Leerink Holdings in 2018.
King received a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College. He currently sits on a variety of public, private and not-for-profit boards, including the King’s School of Stamford, Connecticut.
