APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A wanted suspect in the murder of a 25-year-old Apple Valley man has taken himself into custody, officials said.
The victim, Daniel Castillo was found gunned down inside his apartment in the 20300 block of Otoe Road just before 3 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021.
Daniel’s family told VVNG he was shot twice and the suspect was identified as 28 years old. Armando Santana fled the place. Sheriff officials said the victim and the suspect knew each other.
For several days, the suspect was on the run before turning into the Apple Valley Police Department on Wednesday, June 9. Homicide investigators interviewed Santana, and at the end of the interview he was arrested and convicted of the murder of PC 187.
