Once again, the Super Bowl halftime show is the biggest musical performance of the year. Award-winning singer Usher has just taken the stage, with a slightly longer half than usual, getting an extra two minutes, going from 13 to 15 minutes.
Usher came out dressed in white and began his performance with “Caught Up,” starting things off with a bang. He was joined by dancers on the field, looking like an authentic Las Vegas show. He was also joined by a marching band who had a significant presence during “Love In This Club.”
He brought in singer Alicia Keys, who before the event wasKeys was revealed with an all-red piano, complete with matching outfit. She began singing her own song, “If I Ain’t Got You”, joined by Usher. They then moved on to “My Boo”, a song they composed together in 2004.
Jermaine Durpri was another surprise guest, who was not reported before the match. HER then brought out his signature guitar, showing off in front of the Super Bowl crowd.
While SHE performed, Usher donned roller skates and played with skates while performing OMG with William. The surprise guests didn’t stop there, Lil Jon and Ludacris joined Usher to perform their hit song “Yeah!”
During their rendition of “Yeah!” the marching band spelled out “USHER.”
Many fans were hoping that Justin Bieber, who previously worked with Usher on “Somebody to Love,” would be another surprise guest, but unfortunately for Bieliebers, he didn’t show up. Usher reportedly contacted Bieber to perform and the pop singer was seen in Las Vegas a day before the Super Bowl.
Here is Usher’s setlist:
At halftime, the 49ers lead 10-3 over the Kansas City Chiefs. The only touchdown of the game came from Niners star running back Christian McCaffrey on a trap play.
We still have 30 minutes left before we crown a world champion. You can watch the rest of the Super Bowl on CBS, with a family stream on Nickelodeon and streaming on Paramount+.
