LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift aren’t the only celebrities at the Super Bowl. The featured artist of this year’s halftime show, Grammy-winning R&B singer Usher, also hosted a large company during his show at Allegiant Stadium.
Which of Usher’s surprise guests stole the show the most in the middle of Super Bowl LVIII between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers? Here is our ranking:
6. Jermaine Dupri
The rapper took the stage to hype the crowd once Usher welcomed his first guest (more on her below), so he was mainly there just to move the show from one act to the next. ‘other.
The Black Eyed Peas frontman appeared to perform “OMG,” his chart-topping hit with Usher, but didn’t stay very long.
The R&B singer and guitarist played a relatively large role in the middle of Usher’s performance, showing off her instrumental skills on roller skates, setting the stage for one of the set’s most memorable moments: a dance number in circular skating.
3. Alicia Keys
Of all the guests, the R&B singer may have had the best revelation, debuting in a sparkling red suit while singing “If I Ain’t Got You” on the piano. Her sensual interactions with Usher were a perfect fit for the concert’s more emotional opening.
2. Little Jon
There’s nothing that screams Las Vegas quite like “Turn Down For What,” which the rapper and hype man sang before throwing himself into the crowd swarming the stage on the grass of Allegiant Field. His energy helped take the show to another level – pun intended – and set the stage for the final, triumphant guest star.
Everyone and their mother watched that halftime show just to hear “Yeah!” And the arrival of Ludacris for the final verse, complete with afro and shoulder pads, closed the club, evoking the loudest roars of the performance. Teaming up with Usher and Lil Jon, he put a thunderous cap on the halftime event, just as fake Usher-marked dollar bills rained into the stadium.
