As we get closer to kickoff between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, the hype for Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona will only grow. Given how epic this game should be, there’s naturally going to be some anticipation boiling over, which I can vouch for. And if you’re like me and can’t wait to get your football fix, let me bring you some relief in the form of our CBS Sports simulation of Super Bowl LVII.
If you’ve followed these sims over the past two Super Bowls, you know he has quite the knack for nailing these games. Last season he correctly won the Los Angeles Rams all over the Cincinnati Bengals and predicted victory for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the Chiefs the previous year.
Will it go three for three this year? If you’re an Eagles fan, you’ll hope not. That’s because this Madden NFL 23 simulation rolled the Chiefs to a pretty convincing 24-11 victory, giving Patrick Mahomes his second Super Bowl title.
Mahomes was masterful from the start, helping KC start the night on a 14-0 run that featured the quarterback completing his first 14 passes, including a 12-for-12 run on those consecutive touchdowns.

After a first three and out, Philadelphia showed signs of life in the first half as Jalen Hurts was able to connect with DeVonta Smith for a 55-yard reception that immediately put the Eagles within goal range before halftime. time. However, Kansas City’s defense would hold on and keep them in the basket, coming in at halftime, 14-3.
The second-half opener was where the Eagles made their best effort against the Chiefs. Hurts led a 75-yard touchdown that ended in a score on the Miles Sanders goal line. With the score 14-9 after that Sanders touchdown, Nick Sirianni left his attack on the field for a two-point conversion to cut the lead to a mere field goal. He again handed the club’s fate to Sanders and was able to score two points on the board, making it 14-11 midway through the third quarter.

As Philly began to build momentum, the Chiefs decided to slow play with a ensuing drive that chewed 4:46 off the clock over 11 games. To make matters worse for the Eagles and their comeback hopes, that drive ended with a Mahomes touchdown against tight end Noah Gray pushing the lead back to double digits.

The nail in the coffin came on Philadelphia’s next drive as the offense botched a screen pass and ultimately resulted in a turnover. Hurts backed up and threw the ball before his lineman or back could go out into space, and threw the ball into the back of the helmet of Lane Johnson, the Chiefs linebacker and Super Bowl MVP LVII Nick Bolton was able to pick up at the 3:11 fourth quarter mark. That led to a KC field goal to put the Chiefs by 13 and on course to win.

However, there was a brief sense that the Eagles could do some late-game magic, especially after Hurts ripped off a 53-yard run that put Philly’s offense on the 1-yard line with fewer chances. one minute to play in regulation time.

If they could pull off a quick score there, then an in-game kick would be in play, right? Well, we never got to see what would happen next as safety Bryan Cook eventually took out Hurts on the goal line to freeze the game for Kansas City.
Mahomes completed 19 of 20 passes for 158 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the victory. Isiah Pacheco rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Meanwhile, Super Bowl MVP Nick Bolton had six total tackles and that clutch interception on Hurts to eliminate any hope of a comeback.
