I paid more for my last smartphone than for my first car. That is to say, the small devices we’re all glued to these days could very well be some of the most prized of our everyday possessions – give or take a wedding band or a Rolex. Perhaps because they feel like an extension of our hands (and sometimes our brains), we just don’t treat them with the respect they deserve.
