Steven Gerrard shared a sweet tribute to his wife Alex as she celebrated her 40th birthday on Thursday.
The former Liverpool star, 41, took to Instagram to post a series of beloved snaps with Alex, whom he married in 2007.
He also shared a photo of their stunning kitchen decorated with gold balloons and a 40 LED sign.

In the first snap, Alex looked glamorous as she donned a black cap with her age on the front and a pair of stylish sunglasses.
In another, the couple appeared in good spirits as they made themselves comfortable and enjoyed a sumptuous meal.
Alex watched every inch of the doting mother alongside her children Lilly, 18, Lexie 16, Lourdes 10 and five-year-old son Leo, who she shares with the Aston Villa manager.

It comes after Steve recently shared a sweet tribute to his daughter Lilly as she celebrated her 18th birthday.
The former Liverpool star took to Instagram to share an image of his stunning daughter at a celebratory dinner, after decorating their home with huge 18 balloons.
Steven captioned his post: ‘Happy 18th birthday Lilly, hope your day is as special as you are. We love you so much, please never change.

In recent months, Steven has moved from Scottish club Rangers to Aston Villa, hoping to save the Premier League side from relegation.
After opening with four wins from six under Gerrard, Villa have struggled for consistency, with Steven recently saying he knew the team had to look over their shoulder.
“It’s very easy in this area of the league to think you’re okay,” Gerrard said. “It’s very easy to take your eyes off the ball and become complacent, like we did last week.
“We have to be extremely careful. We are 12th, not a position where we can disrespect an opponent and think we can just show up.
