Stars celebrate Thanksgiving 2020: Jimmy Fallon, Meghan Markle, Nicki Minaj and more
With travel and health restrictions during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Thanksgiving looks a little different this year. But celebrities, like the rest of us, always find ways to celebrate all of the things they’re grateful for.
From Macy’s social distancing Thanksgiving parade to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first Turkey Day in the United States at their home in California, here’s a look at how the stars celebrated Thanksgiving 2020.
After an emotional week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were eagerly awaiting a low-key Thanksgiving dinner with close family, including son Archie and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.
A source close to the couple told ET, “[Meghan and Harry] are going to have a leisurely dinner at home and look forward to celebrating their first American Thanksgiving in the United States with their family. They plan to enjoy a home-cooked meal with traditional Thanksgiving dishes, including recipes made with vegetables fresh from their garden. “
In New York City, Jimmy Fallon and the Roots helped kick off the “redesigned” Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, which was an exclusively televised event this year, with performances and shows filmed over several days to deter the gathered crowds of spectators.
Al Roker also shared many (masked) photos of the parade route – including his reunion with Butter Man “arch-nemesis” 2019!
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was at the New York parade in mind, as a balloon from his infamous fanny pack celebrated his upcoming release. Young Rock biographical series on NBC.
“I’ve been fortunate to have done some pretty cool stuff in my career, but after seeing my @nbcyoungrock FANNY PACK FLOAT in the #MacysThanksgivingParade, it might take the cake,” the star said on Instagram.
Meanwhile, from Washington DC, President-elect Joe Biden and his wife Jill shared a holiday message, writing, “We’re going through this together, even though we have to be apart.” Happy Thanksgiving.
