Square Home is an Android launcher inspired by Windows

The Google Play Store is full of Android launchers of all types. From extremely customizable ones like Nova Launcher, to ones with unique approaches, like Niagara Launcher. Well, today we are here to check out Square Home, an Android launcher inspired by Windows.

Square Home is an Android launcher inspired by Microsoft’s Metro UI

Now, this launcher is actually inspired by Windows 10 Metro UI, not Window Phone like many others. The moment you look at the images in the gallery below, you’ll understand what that means.

You will get a ton of square windows on your home screen, which of course are customizable. You can configure them however you want, and it will definitely spice up your setup.

Live Tiles are part of the experience, and so are Widgets. You can, for example, combine your music player and weather widgets with a ton of Live Tiles.

You can vertically scroll your main page and place as many widgets and live tiles as you want. It is also possible to scroll horizontally, between different pages. This app also seems well-suited to tablets, and it also comes with a tablet mode.

The so-called “smart app drawer” is also part of the package

Square Home also comes with a “smart app drawer”, which does its best to sort your apps. There’s quick access to your contacts and a ton of additional customizations you can dive into.

This app brings a different approach to Android, that’s for sure. If you liked Microsoft’s Metro UI, or Windows Phone for that matter, chances are you’ll enjoy this launcher a lot.

In-app purchases are included here, but the app can be downloaded and used for free. You might not get access to everything, but you can try it out and see if it’s worth paying for all the features.

You can find official images in the gallery below, and if you want to try this app, the download link is also available below.
