Sparta Prague face AS Monaco on Tuesday at Generali Česká pojišťovna Arena for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
Sparta Prague entered the match after a 5-0 victory over Pavel Hoftych’s Slovan Liberec yesterday in the Czech Premier League. Goals from winger Jakub Pesek, talented young striker Adam Hlozek, midfielders Adam Karabec and Ladislav Krejci and Filip Soucek secured victory at Sparta Prague for Pavel Vrba.
Slovan Liberec sent off former Werder Bremen right-back Theodor Gebre Selassie in the second half.
AS Monaco, on the other hand, lost 2-1 to Real Sociedad Imanol Alguacil in a friendly match a few days ago. Goals from Belgium international Adnan Januzaj and Brazilian striker Willian Jose secured the victory for Real Sociedad. Russian midfielder Aleksandr Golovin scored the consolation goal for AS Monaco.
