Southampton v Newcastle LIVE: Saints give first start to Orsic and Alcaraz as in-form Magpies name strong and unchanged squad as they head to south coast for Carabao Cup semi-final clash

Newcastle travel to the south coast tonight to take on Southampton with dreams of making it to Wembley.

The Magpies haven’t made a domestic cup final since the 1998/99 campaign but facing Saints in a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final seems like a great chance to end that run.

The Toons have the best defensive record in the top flight and Nick Pope hasn’t conceded a goal in his last nine games.

Meanwhile, Southampton appear to have hit some form under Nathan Jones and have won three of their last four as they look to return to Wembley.

Saints reached the 2016/17 Carabao Cup final but were beaten 3-2 by Manchester United.
