Newcastle travel to the south coast tonight to take on Southampton with dreams of making it to Wembley.
The Magpies haven’t made a domestic cup final since the 1998/99 campaign but facing Saints in a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final seems like a great chance to end that run.

Miguel Almiron scored in a 4-1 win for Newcastle against Southampton earlier this season
The Toons have the best defensive record in the top flight and Nick Pope hasn’t conceded a goal in his last nine games.
Meanwhile, Southampton appear to have hit some form under Nathan Jones and have won three of their last four as they look to return to Wembley.
Saints reached the 2016/17 Carabao Cup final but were beaten 3-2 by Manchester United.

Southampton v Newcastle: team news
The hosts have quite a few injury problems to deal with and will certainly be without Juan Larios and Tino Livramento.
Alex McCarthy, Armel Bella-Kotchap and Theo Walcott are also doubts after missing the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa.
Meanwhile, Moussa Djenepo and Sekou Mara will be hoping for the chance to start after scoring in Southampton’s 2-0 win over Manchester City in the quarter-finals.
Newcastle won’t have long-term absentees Matt Targett, Jonjo Shelvey or Emil Krafth at their disposal, but Elliot Anderson could return from a minor calf injury.
Bruno Guimaraes started and played the full 90 minutes against Crystal Palace after overcoming an ankle problem which saw him leave the pitch in tears against Fulham.
Alexander Isak and Allan Saint-Maximin could enter Eddie Howe’s starting XI as the Toon have scored just three goals in all competitions since Boxing Day.

Howe, Newcastle boss: “We are delighted to be where we are, but the semi-final itself is not enough.
